Where To Stay in Leeds: Marriott Hotel Review

Last month, I travelled the long 4 hour car journey to Leeds for the 4th time in 3 years. Leeds is such amazing and vibrant city. It reminds me so much of Cardiff which I why I love it so much.

As much as I love the freedom of staying in an AirBnB, I love staying in hotels. Even if it is just one nice relaxing night but the thought of having the bedding changed for me and food only down a few floors is bloody great (always thinking about food, standard.)

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

When we first arrived at the Marriot Hotel, the reception area was very grand and the staff were incredibly friendly and funny. Although the hotel looked amazing, the location was perfect.

The outside of the hotel is beautiful, there’s a lovely grass area to sit with a dog fountain. Yup, you heard correctly, a dog fountain. The area is lovely to sit around if the weather is nice. The reason we travelled to Leeds for the weekend was for a festival that was in the city centre, so it was basically on the door step and again it was a 2 minute walk to Yates. (Also always thinking about alcohol.)

Check out my guide to Alternative Summer Festivals here.

OUR ROOM

Our room was 2 family room which had 2 double beds and table and chairs.  There were 4 girls staying in the room for 2 nights, but last minute it ended up with 5 girls (blow up bed on the floor) and it was still a perfect size. The room consisted of a TV, complementary Wi-Fi, tea and coffee making facilities (which the girls used a lot) and the bahroom had complementary shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and hand gel.

We put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door because as you can imagine, walking into a room that 5 females have been sharing and getting ready in was not a pretty site.

BAR & RESTAURANT

To add breakfast onto our stay it would of been £13 each for an all you can eat breakfast for 2 mornings, which is great value. Although we did not have breakfast or even use the restaurant, I did take a peek inside and it looked (and smelt) amazing. The bar also had a great feel to it, and wasn’t too busy or loud.

OVERALL

I can not fault the Marriot in Leeds. We have a perfect all round experience and was very happy with our stay as the price was very reasonable (less then £70 each) for 2 nights.

If you are looking for a hotel that’s reasonably priced and in the dead centre of Leeds then the Marriot is the place for you.

Great review! That bar looks like an awesome vibe. I’ve never been to Leeds, but have a lot of friends and family who currently live in London. I’ll have to visit Leeds one time when I visit them, and I’ll be sure to keep this in mind!

Marriott sounds great considering the facilities it provides as well as the reasonable price. I like the warm colours and ambience of the bar. Room looks nice with those comfy beds and clean washroom. Looks like a great stay in Leeds.
